Prayer plants (Maranta leuconeura) require bright to medium indirect light, high humidity (50%+), and consistently moist, well-draining soil (avoiding soggy conditions) to thrive. They prefer warm temperatures (65–85°F), need protection from direct sun and cold drafts, and benefit from filtered or distilled water to prevent brown tips.

Key Care Requirements:
  • Light: Place in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight will scorch leaves, while too little light causes the plant to stop moving or lose color.
  • Water: Keep the soil consistently moist during the growing season (spring/summer), but not waterlogged
Reduce water in winter, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out.
Water Quality: Use tepid, filtered, distilled, or rainwater to prevent brown, crispy tips caused by chemicals in tap water.
  • Humidity: High humidity is essential. Increase it by misting, using a pebble tray, or placing a humidifier nearby.
  • Temperature: Maintain temperatures between 65°F and 80°Favoiding cold drafts below 55°F.
  • Soil and Potting: Use a well-draining, potting mix (peat-based). They have shallow roots, so shallow pots are better.
  • Fertilizer: Feed every 2–4 weeks from spring to early autumn with a balanced, liquid houseplant fertilizer diluted to half-strength.
  • Maintenance: Prune once or twice a year to encourage a bushy habit.
  • Common Issues:
    • Brown edges/tips: Typically caused by low humidity, cold temperatures, or poor water quality (salts/minerals).
    • Leaves not folding: If the plant does not fold its leaves at night, it may be stressed by too much light or incorrect watering.
    • Yellowing leaves/Root rot: Usually caused by overwatering or poor drainage

My teacher thinks some of the ekgs are wrong
Format: Paperback
Can anyone put me in contact with the author of this book? My ekg/cardiology teacher is slandering her name and saying some of the rhythms she has in this book are wrong. Really upsets me because he is only a nurse and teaching a pre paramedic course. Doctors and cardiologist were the ones who cited this book. The rhythms are correct, my teacher just wants to think he is smarter than everyone else when it comes to cardiology. Otherwise I love this book and very helpful.

Excellent Book
Format: Paperback
As a nurse I struggle sometimes with rhythm recognition for some of the more complicated ones. This book is easy to read with many practice strips to help you comprehend even the complex details. Would highly recommend to anyone who needs to learn EKGs or brush up on their rhythm recognition skills. Great book!

Thin pages
Format: Paperback
I purchased this book a couple months back but just started school so I just started using this book and come to realize that these pages are way too thin, you can literally see the words of the following pages and the ink on the pages started to smear where ever I touches, I can't even highlight anything or else the other side of the page would be a mess.

Know the Church Fathers
Format: Paperback
This was a profoundly useful study for the Church fathers to identify how the Church grew in a hostile world.
