red snakeskin dress Spring 2009 Prada Runway Snakeskin Print Open Side Dress – Shrimpton CoutureIn the Vogue review for this collection Sarah Mower noted: "Miuccia Prada had a sound bite for her Spring collection. "It's primitive," she said, "going back to what counts." When the chips are down, there is no one who can turn up the thermostat of subversive sexual provocation quite as high as Mrs. Prada. In the Vogue review for this collection Sarah Mower noted: "Miuccia Prada had a sound bite for her Spring collection. "It's primitive," she said, "going back to what counts." ... When the chips are down, there is no one who can turn up the thermostat of subversive sexual provocation quite as high as Mrs. Prada. Her girls, their skin glistening as if on a fevered summer's night, might have been passing through on their way to or from lovers' assignations, their clothes disarranged in various states of falling-off or looking as if they might do so at any moment. Rumpled and crinkled fabrics have been appearing all over this season, but never with such sly intent. One pull of a trailing drawstring tape and, whoops! A person could find herself half naked. There was something fabulously Italian about all this shameless reveling in femininity. The fifties overtones, with the high chignons, the ruched bras, and swishing rear action in the below-knee pencil skirts, managed to channel the heyday of Cinecittà without cliché. Best of all, this is a collection destined to look even better on a woman with a real body than it does on a teen model. And that, Mrs. Prada surely knows, really is "what counts.""

The dress is amazing and was one of the standouts in the show. These were photoed everywhere and this snake print was one of the biggest looks of the season. This dress is particularly fabulous because of its amazing cut. It has that sexy, fitted fifties feel to it and the open sides are shocking when you catch that glimpse of bare skin. The fabric is deliberately rumpled and crinkled and I love the slimming effect the panels of black on either side of the print have on the body. It skims over your curves and ends just past the knee. On the side it buttons and is partially closed over the hip area and then up the side it ties to close allowing you to tie or loosen it to fit as you please. At the top of the shoulder it ties. Really one of the stand out Prada pieces and it feels as wearable now as it did then, perhaps even more so. Excellent condition

Unlined and closes at the side as described above. Tagged a Prada 40.

The Book I Meant to Write
Format: Kindle
While doing my master’s degree in international relations, I completed a master’s thesis on Xi Jinping Thought (which, like the authors, I shortened to Xi Thought). I considered writing a book on the subject since there wasn’t a lot in English, but I no longer feel the need. This book fills every gap that was present. Well written and informative, it is the quintessential English source in Xi Thought. The authors put Xi’s political thought in a consultative Leninist paradigm and define that context clearly. Each chapter elucidates a little more and puts Xi thought front and center in China’s current transformation. I consider it a must read.

Great read and most importantly very topical
Format: Audiobook
The writers use published work of Xi and Chinese government official statements to describe the true nature of this most important Chinese leader who will have profound impact on the total world.Like it or not it is essential for all of us to really what he is preparing his nation for the vision he has.Americans are naive and totally ignorant.

Pure anti-China propaganda
Format: Audiobook
From the first few sentences they get the name of the ruling party of China wrong and it only gets worse from there. This is purely a work of western propaganda and in no way academic or objective. I've studied China for many years. You will find nothing of value from this book. All of their achievements are minimized or disregarded entirely. You will also notice that very little data is presented if any at all.

Great analysis on a super important topic
Format: Hardcover
Excellent analysis of what is potentially the most important flash point on earth - while we are all looking the other way to Iran. The vast majority of Americans have no idea what would happen if (and I hope not when) China tries to take Taiwan. It would change technology and geopolitics instantly, and not in our favor. We are not prepared. A lot is at stake. Even a cursory reading of this book would better inform any reader. (And how could that one star reviewer think this is a novel? It doesn't remotely sound like a novel, even in the description. Insert eye roll emoji here.)

Will 500 5 stars defeat a mistaken rating?
Format: Hardcover
The future of the planet depends on this book and it received one star as a "mistaken novel!!" DO NOT look only at the stars, this seminal, recent, scholarly text, at an amazing price for the content (cf Springer for $300 US), outlines the disasterous imminent global economic and even nuclear consequenses brewing NOW in the Strait. I'm completing my third doctorate on simulating Strait diplomacy and military models, and Adam Liff's recent Cambridge article (open access) is a great preview of this amazing and crucial text-- Bayesian math plus Baha'i consultation are urgently needed to mitigate THE global trigger and planetary flashpoint which is about to destroy the global economy, or... worse.
