This romantic vintage red velvet dress was custom-made in the late 1930s (possibly early 1940s), and is entirely one-of-a-kind. The maxi-length crushed red velvet is so rich. It features a gathered empire waist, with long tailored sleeves that come to a point at the cuff. It was reworked and modernized around the 1970s, with a zipper added in the back, making it easier to wear. Because of the empire waist, this can also be an incredible vintage maternity dress. Closes in the back with a zipper.

The Antique Victorian Heart Locket pictured is also available. 

Measurements: This will best fit a size X-Small, Small and possibly Medium; please refer to below measurements. It is smaller through the shoulders and chest, with more flexibility through the waist and hips.
Chest: 37"
Empire waist/underbust: about 29", gathering offers some forgiveness there
Hips are open up to 45"
Length: 53"


Good vintage condition overall; there were some repairs made to the fabric at the bottom skirt towards hem. I'm very pleased with the way this shirt looks on me. Despite being a "squeeze" material, it's quite comfortable to wear. The fit, at least for me, is spot-on. Design-wise, I found that the lines on the front of the shoulders look a little odd, almost like they're supposed to the shoulder seams. But overall, I really like this shirt, and $20 for a shirt that fits this well is a steal.

Bizarre bottom hem shape

First, my stats: I’m 6 foot 1, 185 pounds. I ordered a medium size. At first glance, I liked this shirt, but after observing what the bottom looks like, I’m not even sure I want to keep this. A picture is worth many words, so take a look at the ones I included in this review. The bottom hem in the front curves down in a strange sort of “tunic” style. This renders the garment completely unwearable in my opinion, as this is not a shirt that I think would look good tucked into pants. If the bottom of the shirt was flat/straight, it would be four or five stars. As such, I’m rating this three stars because the only thing wrong with this shirt is the bottom, and this might not bother everyone else.
