Like most Swiss made items, it smacks of quality. The dress can be worn either strapless or with straps as the straps snap on, so are easily removed. It has a wide V shaped neckline and crossover bodice. There is a pink silk satin ribbon, with bow at the side, delineating the empire style waist. This is a striking full length gold lamé brocade evening gown made in Switzerland during the 1960s. Like most Swiss made items, it smacks of quality. The dress can be worn either strapless or with straps as the straps snap on, so are easily removed. It has a wide V shaped neckline and crossover bodice. There is a pink silk satin ribbon, with bow at the side, delineating the empire style waist. It has its own inner green silk faille bustier that does up with hooks and eyes (see last close-up photo). It is fully lined with white silk organza and does up the back with a nylon zipper.
Fabric: Heavy gold silk base fabric with metallic gold detail with raised designs in colours of peach and silver grey, quite spectacular
Sizing: Size 10 is indicated, and although it should fit a medium size, please note the following measurements for fit, keeping the style and cut of the garment in mind - please measure your body or a similar garment that you own:
Shoulders: 15” / Bust: 34” / Waist: 27” around, taken under the ribbon - the true waist is also 27” around / Hips: 36” around, meant to fall loosely / Overall length: 52" measured flat
Condition: The dress is in very good condition with no pronounced wear or tear or odors - this looks to have seen little use and was well stored over the years.
